Happy Birthday Mom!

I have been working the front desk a little more these days, which is good. I am able to meet more of our clients and talk with all of the employees. This past Saturday a daughter brought her Mother into the spa. It was a total surprise to the mother. The entire family had purchased her a day of beauty and pampering. She had a manicure, pedicure, facial, massage, and a new haircut. She donated her long hair to Locks of Love. To say the least the lady was so happy at at the end of her day. We took about 9 inches off of her hair and gave her a new modern cut. She looked wonderful. However, this was not the end for the lady. Her family had a limo waiting for her and they all went out to dinner.
This made my day when I found out what her family had done. I love it when people come to our spa and enjoy our surroundings. We have a great staff and spa to take care of everything you need.

Client Feed Back
One of the best ways for us to grow as a business is to receive very positive feedback and also constructive criticism. I love to receive letters telling me how their experience was at our spa/salon. I received one the other day from a friend telling me about each of her services. The facial, massages, and pedicures. She mentioned one thing that really thought I should know and should be improved upon.
I am so appreciative of this. She said it in the nicest way and she said that she would continue to come to our spa and salon.
I would love to receive more letters like this one. We can get most anything we want in the life. It is just how we ask for it. And usually with a big smile helps.

Volunteer

I have always tried my best to volunteer when I can. As a college student I worked for Americorps, which is a division of the Peacecorps, and now I volunteer my time to a wonderful organization, The Betty Puskar Breast Cancer Center.
For the past 4 years I have chaired an event known as The Betty Puskar Breast Cancer Fashion Show. It is absolutely a wonderful event. Women of all ages come to enjoy and donate money to our organization. We have cocktails, raffles, food, and fashion.
Although this event stresses me out, I have to say the night of the event makes it all worth the work we put into it. The hi-lite of the evening is where we have breast cancer survivors as models and they walk the catwalk and we announce how long they have been a survivor. The crowd goes wild and claps and shouts. It honestly brings tears to your eyes. If you are in the Morgantown, WV area and would like to join us. The event is on Wednesday, October 8 at Lakeview Resort.
If you ever get a chance to volunteer your time or money, try to. It will make you feel like a million bucks.
Great Gift Ideas

A spa/salon gift certificate is always a great gift to give. I honestly run into people all over town that tell me, "all I want for Christmas is a gift certificate to the Waterfront Spa and Salon".
This makes me so happy. They have either visited us before and had a terrific time or a friend has told them about our spa. Lets face it. Everyone needs a day of pampering and relaxation.
While thinking about gifts I came up with a wonderful concept. It is called a "Gift on the Go".
All you have to do is come in pick out a manicure, pedicure, facial, or massage and you receive a beautiful candle, small gift and the gift certificate for that service and it all comes in a beautiful Waterfront Spa and Salon gift box. It is already wrapped and ready to give as a gift. We can even get you a card to go along with it. These "Gifts on the Go" range from $77.00 to $100.00.
The person you purchase it for will think you are the best.
We are trying to make things easier for your gift giving.

Customer Testimonial

Yesterday I received a very nice letter from a client. You never know what is going to be in the letter. Be it good or bad I try to take it all in and learn from it.
Here is what the letter stated.
Dear Patrick,
I am writing to commend you on the wonderful job you are doing at the Waterfront Spa/Salon.
I was there today for a massage, facial, pedicure, and haircut (my husband got me a gift certificate) and I was slightly apprehensive because I'd heard how nice the spa was. I assumed that meant it would be snobby, but I was so wrong! Your staff is genuine, warm, inviting, and definitely talented. I've been to several other salon/spas in the area and yours is hands down the classiest. Any interior can look beautiful, the people at your spa re the reason I will be back. Tammy, Julie, Anita and Jessica Hill (along with the receptionist) make their customers feel wanted and everyone can enjoy that! They also speak well of one another which is hard to find, but so refreshing and again, classy. Thank you so much for a wonderful day.
This letter was the nicest thing this lady could have done for me. The one thing I want out of our spa is happiness and for you to feel comfortable. It is also great for all of the staff to see it in writing that all of their hard work pays off and we were able to make at least one person happy on that given day. Great job to all of our staff at The Waterfront Spa and Salon

Smile
I was recently in Mexico for vacation with 16 of my family members and my partner, who thank goodness, Spanish was his first language. We had an amazing time. One morning I was up at 4 am and decided to go for a walk and to see if the business center was open. Nothing was open so I sat listening to my ipod. As each worker went past me we each smiled and said "hola". As I did this I was thinking that neither of us could speak to each other. But the one thing that says the most in any language is a smile. No matter what language you speak a smile can say so much. Since I am in the customer service industry this means a lot as it should to anyone that is alive in this world. It also says that if a smile can do so much a frown can too. So, to all of you that are in the customer service industry remember to always put that smile on your face and you will be able to speak to anyone.
